“Yurakucho micro FOOD & IDEA MARKET” is a wonderful space where you can eat, shop, and discover great ideas and products from all over Japan. We visited this new facility in search of new trends and ideas!

“Yurakucho micro FOOD & IDEA MARKET” is easily accessible from the Yurakucho and the Ginza area and it’s only a 3-minute walk from Yurakucho Station. Plus, because it faces the long shopping street Marunouchi Naka-dori Street, it’s a great place to visit for a coffee break during a window-shopping spree.

Once inside the building, you will find an open space with tables and shelves. Walk around freely and discover delicious food, great products and get some new ideas!

Delicious food from all over Japan

In one corner of the shop, you’ll find a market area selling a wide array of food-related products. These products are focused on brands and manufacturers that are well known in their respective hometowns and areas all over Japan, but not yet available in Tokyo. Therefore this is a place where you can have a “first date” with all of these products.

The shop’s mission is to discover these hidden “micro” things and introduce them to a wider audience.

“Yurakucho micro FOOD & IDEA MARKET” has arranged a very interesting shipping system for their products. With the cooperation of nationwide bus companies, they use the free trunk space of highway buses to bring fresh agricultural products from production areas all over the country to Tokyo. This method is not only fast. Since no extra trucks are needed to transport the products, the overall traffic volume and emissions are reduced. What an eco-friendly idea!

Sushi vinegar from Kyoto, honey from Sendai, pottery from Gifu, and instant curry from Niigata. So many interesting things!

In the dining area, you can taste all of those freshly picked vegetables and other local gourmet foods and rare ingredients that were brought by bus to Tokyo.

Please order food and drinks at the counter. Payment is completely cashless.

We recommend the “deli set”, where you can choose from 2 to 4 delis.

At “Yurakucho micro FOOD & IDEA MARKET”, you can find wonderful things from all over Japan. The displayed products change regularly, so every time you visit, you’ll discover something new!

This space was created as a discovery or “matching” zone. The products aren’t made for everyone. Most of the items are things you will probably see for the first time. Some of them are from crowdfunding and rather “special”. But you might just be that person these products were made for. So when you pick it up, you may actually “fall in love”!

These cute products were on display for a limited time. It was a part of an offline presentation of an online shop. To buy the items, you had to access the shop through a QR code and buy them online.

Items are on display throughout the whole facility. Some can be bought on the spot.

These colorful handkerchiefs were designed by artists working at welfare facilities all over Japan.
